Everyday Americans are bombarded with the terrible numbers of casualties of US soldiers in Iraq, which is horrible and depressing. The Cooper Republic Team did a little research into the casualties of terrorism Worldwide and compared them with the murder rate within the United States for 2005. This is what we found:
Very interesting article about how some in Hollywood are taking terrorism and national security issues seriously. Maybe there is some hope for Hollywood– the constant group- think gets old. Here is an excerpt from the article:
Perhaps the most visible recent statement of the security celebrities was a full-page ad taken out in the L.A. Times in August, signed by dozens of Hollywood types including Nicole Kidman, Michael Douglas, Bernie Mac, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton, William Hurt, Ridley Scott, Michael Mann, Sam Raimi and Paramount chairman Sumner Redstone, as well as former Paramount chairwoman and longtime Democratic contributor Sherry Lansing. “We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas,” the ad read. “If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die. We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs.”
The party of cut and run still does not understand the War on Terror five years after 9/11. The other day Nancy Pelosi said that Iraq was not part of the War on Terror. That kind of thinking is dangerous to the National Security of United States. My friends al Qaeda is all over Iraq. Does Ms. Pelosi believe if we cut and run in Iraq that all terrorists are going to start being nice and laying down their weapons? We were not in Iraq on 9/11, and the previous administration dropped the ball in going after terrorists on worldwide front. {Just ask Sandy Berger} He risked his career and reputation to stick documents down his pants to cover up for the Clinton Administration. As my grandfather used to say “Follow the money”—well in this case follow the votes. The truth is the Democrats are weak on terrorism no matter how you slice it. Don’t believe me just take a look at their recent votes on National Security issues:
Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act
164 Democrats voted against Border Protection Etc.
Providing for further consideration of the bill (H.R. 4437) to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to strengthen enforcement of the immigration laws, to enhance border security, and for other purposes
Supporting intelligence and law enforcement programs to track terrorists and terrorist finances conducted consistent with Federal law and with appropriate Congressional consultation and specifically condemning the disclosure and publication of classified information that impairs the international fight against, etc.
Again, How can you be against this bill—well174 Democrats did vote against passage!
We could go on and on. We’ll be adding votes all the way up to election time. But there is reason people say the Democrats are weak on National Security and their votes prove it.
