Al Qaeda is again setting its sights on Kenya. The United States has just finished building a spanking new embassy complex in Nairobi with the last word in counter-terror devices, a model for every American legation in the world. It replaces the building al Qaeda blasted in 1998 in twin attacks that hit the US embassy in Dar es-Salaam on the same day. DEBKAfile’s counter-terror and intelligence sources warn that the Islamist terrorists are poised to strike again in Kenya only eight months after bombing the Israeli-owned Paradise hotel in Mombasa and botching a shoulder-fired Strela rocket attack on an Israeli air charter. A new report says Al Qaida has begun to flee Baghdad in an attempt to avoid confrontation with US Forces. It’s not surprising that the surge is working, but we all know Al Qaida is going to try to wait the United States out. With Washington politicians playing politics with the war I’m sure Al Qaida will soon have a victory in Iraq. But at least the killing has stopped for a little while.Here is an excerpt from the Media East Newsline:
Al Qaida has begun to flee the Iraqi capital. Officials said Al Qaida operatives have sought to escape joint Iraqi-U.S. combat units during their security mission in Baghdad. They said the combat units have begun to dismantle Al Qaida cells in the city, now divided into 10 zones. “I can say that all the zones have been secured by Iraqi and American forces that are seeking to eliminate Al Qaida elements and death squads,” Capt. Eric Clark, a U.S. military spokesman, said. Clark said the flight of Al Qaida cells from Baghdad has led to a decrease in attacks on Shi’ites in the capital. He did not provide details. Over the last month, officials said that under Operation Law Enforcement more than 100 Al Qaida operatives were killed or captured in the Baghdad area. They said the detained operatives included aides in the Al Qaida leadership.
The Taliban are selling beheadings on DVD’s in Pakistan. You know some days I wake up and I can’t believe what I am reading. Can you imagine living in a place where you have to worry about getting beheaded on a daily basis? I really do feel sorry for the innocent who have had to endure such fanatical radicalism—it must be a horrible life. Muslims killing their teacher–I don’t know what to say except, I guess we can’t be surprised about anything anymore. First we have Muslim women in Pakistan carrying rifles like they are ready for war, and know we have kids beating their teacher to death in Nigeria. She was a Christian teacher–which makes you wonder if this was a religious killing, but I think we all no the answer.
Secondary school pupils in north-eastern Nigeria have killed a teacher after apparently accusing her of desecrating the Koran, police say. Nigerian police say students beat the teacher to death outside the school compound after she had been invigilating an exam. The teacher, a Christian, was attacked after supervising an exam in Gombe city. It is not clear what she had done to anger the students but apparently they accused her of desecrating the Koran. The authorities, concerned that communal unrest could break out, have ordered all the city’s schools to shut.
I know Democrats and National Security is a oxymoron, but I digress. Note to all moderate Democrats–the left-wing of your party is dominating you! Now once again the Democratic Party is going down as the party that cannot be trusted with National Security Issues. To advocate pulling out of Iraq and leaving that region with such instability and turmoil is quite frankly ignorant and complete idiocy! Al Qaeda has just used chlorine bombs in Iraq and the party of cut and run is asking US Troops to get out of Iraq by 2008. Sorry, but it’s not going to happen and it shouldn’t. Just remember if Bush took your advice and left Iraq and then a major blood bath occurred, which it would, I guess the Democrats would, well how should we say, have blood on their hands. If a Democrat is elected to the presidency in 2008, I’m betting even they will have understanding that we cannot leave Iraq.The Wall Street Journal Editorial sums it up:
