Iran could be 12 months from the bomb

Well, how is that diplomacy going now? According to the former head of Mossad Israel has 12 months to destroy Iran’s nuclear capability or risk becoming a target of nuclear disaster. Everyone around the world is yelling diplomacy diplomacy with Iran–funny thing though it is not working! Now the world community has itself in a real bind–do we just let Iran get the bomb and live with it or do we start WW3 and bomb Iran’s Nukes? We all know the UN is very inept, so there is no answer there. The IAEA head man says he will resign if Israel attacks Iran, so they are no help. The United States is at war in Iraq and Afghanistan with the military stretched pretty thin. So what do we do? I believe letting Iran gain nuclear weapons will be very, very dangerous and could cause strategic damage to the Middle East. I’m very sad to say there are no good options on the table, and diplomacy just ain’t getting it done! But bombing Iran could prove to be disastrous and cause more instability in that part of the world. So is there a ‘casus belli,’ An act or event that provokes or is used to justify war? I say yes! Here is the reason I believe the United States Military has casus belli for bombing Iran if we must:

General David H. Petraeus Report to Congress on the Situation in Iraq September 2007

In the past six months we have also targeted Shia militia extremists, capturing a number of senior leaders and fighters, as well as the deputy commander of Lebanese Hezbollah Department 2800, the organization created to support the training, arming, funding, and, in some cases, direction of the militia extremists by the Iranian Republican Guard Corps’ Qods Force. These elements have assassinated and kidnapped Iraqi governmental leaders, killed and wounded our soldiers with advanced explosive devices provided by Iran, and indiscriminately rocketed civilians in the International Zone and elsewhere. It is increasingly apparent to both Coalition and Iraqi leaders that Iran, through the use of the Qods Force, seeks to turn the Iraqi Special Groups into a Hezbollah-like force to serve its interests and fight a proxy war against the Iraqi state and coalition forces in Iraq.

Now does killing Americans give the US justification to take out Iran’s nuclear program? I say yes! A quick scenario for everyone playing at home: Since Iran has already shown they have no reservations for killing American servicemen and women why would they hesitate to kill our servicemen and women with a nuclear weapon? In fact, they could use a proxy terrorist group such as Hezbollah to pull it off. Do you really believe that is very far-fetched? I don’t! I do not want a war with Iran because of the lives that will be lost, but I’m beginning to worry that there may be no other option at this point. We will see how the world reacts to a madman in Iran getting a nuclear bomb, and I hope for world peace, but hope may not be good enough!

Jordan wants to arrest Geert Wilders

Geert Wilders may be arrested for making the controversial film Fitna. The Jordanian government is seeking an international arrest warrant for Mr. Wilders’– that would put Mr. Wilders at risk of being arrested abroad if he left his home country.

Excerpt from NIS News Bulletin :

The foreign ministry is concerned that Jordan will shortly issue a warrant for the arrest of Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Geert Wilders. This can have “implications for freedom of expression in the Netherlands,” according to a spokesman. A case has been brought against Wilders in Jordan by a group calling itself The Messenger of Allah Unites Us. It accuses the Dutch MP of racism and incitement to hatred against Islam and Muslims. The case was declared admissible by a court in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Monday. Wilders expects the court to quickly produce a summons and an international warrant for his arrest. Should this happen, Jordan can make a request via Interpol for his tracking down and arrest. Wilders would then run the risk of being arrested abroad. Countries with no extradition treaty with Jordan could then also extradite him, for example with an eye to trade interests. Wilders said Friday that he is experiencing the situation as a serious hampering of his freedom of movement. He has already had contact several times with Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen about the case. Verhagen is taking the case very seriously, according to Wilders. A spokesman for Verhagen confirmed that the minister is “following the case very closely because it could have implications for freedom of expression in the Netherlands.” He did point out that the Amman court has not yet reached a verdict “and that the Netherlands cannot interfere in the judicial process in Jordan.”

9/11–Have we forgotten?

Have we forgotten the lessons of 9/11? I’m getting very worried that we have forgotten about the danger facing not just the United States but the world in respect to terrorism. Having said that, Great Britain added to that worry today by releasing Cleric Abu Qatada on bail. Abu had been described as Osama bin Laden’s right hand man in Europe. It make one wonder about down the line, after many years have passed, and we catch Osama bin Laden, would the we let him out on bail too?

Excerpt from Sky News:

Cleric Abu Qatada, who has been described as Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe, has been released on bail from prison. Qatada, who was being held in Long Lartin prison in Worcestershire, is required to wear an electronic tag and remain in his home for 22 hours a day. The convicted terrorist had been in immigration detention for nearly three years but was released under some of the toughest bail conditions ever seen in Britain. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said: “I am extremely disappointed that the courts have granted Abu Qatada bail, albeit with very strict conditions. “I am appealing to the House of Lords to reverse the decision that it is not safe to deport Qatada and the other Jordanian cases.” Qatada was convicted in his absence in Jordan of involvement with terror attacks in 1998.

Just 7% of US citizens support military action against Iran, according to a new poll.

Well, just 7% of Americans support military action against Iran according to a new poll. You can count me into the 7%, but I would prefer a peaceful resolution to the issue of Iran’s dangerous nuclear program The radical regime in Iran cannot be trusted to be up front and truthful about their intentions–sadly military action may be required. How do you let a mad man get his hands on nuclear bomb and justify non-action? Couple that with the fact that Iran has its hands all over the violence in Iraq and is directly responsible for deaths of US Troops. Moreover, Iran’s insistence on threatening Israel over and over again is very disturbing to say the least! US military action may be required–or Israel may decide it has to go alone because their very survival is at stake. If Iran does use a nuclear weapon against Israel the world will have to take a real hard look at how inaction cost millions of people their lives.

Hamas Doesn’t Like Obama Anymore

Hamas has pulled their endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama. Great, just one question, why in the hell would a terrorist organization be endorsing a US Presidential candidate? We know Obama can’t help who endorses him, but wouldn’t it be wise to question your own policies if a terrorist organization is endorsing you?

Sen. Barack Obama’s speech to AIPAC has convinced Hamas that he and Sen. John McCain are interchangeable. If the group had its druthers, neither one would win. “Obama’s comments have confirmed that there will be no change in the U.S. administration’s foreign policy on the Arab-Israeli conflict,” Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters in Gaza. “The Democratic and Republican parties support totally the Israeli occupation at the expense of the interests and rights of Arabs and Palestinians,” he said. “Hamas does not differentiate between the two presidential candidates, Obama and McCain, because their policies regarding the Arab-Israel conflict are the same and are hostile to us, therefore we do have no preference and are not wishing for either of them to win.”
